UWMC Recognizes Past Board Member and Maconaquah Schools at their Annual Gala

During the annual gala two annual awards were presented to community members for their continued support. . Marcia Minard was presented with the Volunteer of the Year. Marcia just ended her term as a UWMC board member in December of 2023 but has stayed connected by volunteering her time at mobile food pantries and events

“Even as a board member Marcia was the first one I or Debi would call when we needed help.” Said Morgan Gold, the Executive Director. “She has stuffed envelopes, packed food, and helped in any capacity that was ever needed. You can tell by her actions that she loves this community and its people”

The second award for the night was the Company of the Year which went to Maconaquah School Corporation. Maconaquah Schools had the largest employee campaign among government agencies and schools. The UWMC thanked Maconaquah Superintendent Craig Jernegan for the strong partnership between the two organizations.

When asked about what the award means to the school corporation Jernegan said “I am very excited that Maconaquah was recognized as the United Way business of the year.  Our administrators, teachers and support staff members are generous and always come through for our kids and community!”
